Balearic Islands

Sun, Dolce Vita and Fiesta

A favourite seaside destination owing to their proximity, their magnificent beaches and sunny climate, the Balearics have been a safe bet for decades. With a two-hour flight by plane for Majorca and a little more than 2.5 hours for Ibiza, they are within everyone’s reach. Families looking for friendly, relaxing holidays, passionate cyclists wishing to discover the hinterland with its unsuspected charm, revellers looking for the trendiest DJ, nature lovers and water sports lovers will all find something to suit them there.

Majorca

Majorca, the island of a thousand faces, invites you to discover its splendid bays and Palma, its dynamic, cosmopolitan capital. The historic centre, which is full of charm, offers marvellous possibilities for shopping and is full of cultural curiosities. The beautiful beaches all around the island invite you to relax and are the guarantee of unforgettable holidays for all the family. The island is also a true paradise for cyclists and the magnificent golf courses will seduce lovers of the little white ball.

To do

Take the Orange Express. The historic narrow-gauge railway - once the means of transport for oranges and almonds - nowadays quietly links Palma with the charming mountain village of Sóller, allowing you to discover some charming landscapes.
Follow the call of the mountain: a gratifying effort for those who abandon the beach for a day in the Tramuntana mountains, rewarded with fascinating landscapes classified as UNESCO world heritage sites. Best advice: the charming mountain village of Valldemossa.
Have a party: In Playa de Palma, happy party-goers will find everything they want. A great number of super cool, definitely trendy locations so you can do nothing but party during the whole of your holiday.

To see

The ‘Cuevas del Drach’ (or Dragon Caves): Located on the east coast of Majorca, these caves offer the greatest spectacle of stalactites on the island. In a fairy-tale atmosphere, an underground lake even welcomes musicians for a concert.
Palma de Mallorca: In addition to La Seu - a cathedral famous the world over - the island’s capital offers a programme which can be visited quite comfortably with the ‘Hop On Hop Off’ double-decker bus.
Cap de Formentor, at the far north of Majorca: the unending view from the lighthouse over the Cap de Formentor peninsula is quite simply spectacular.
