2. During the Journey: Management and Tips
At the Airport
Luxair strives to simplify family travel with dedicated services:
Priority Boarding: Families with children can board early to settle in comfortably and organise their belongings stress-free before takeoff.
Family Zones at Airports: Some airports offer dedicated family areas, such as the ING Children's Lounge in Luxembourg, featuring games and activities to keep kids entertained while parents handle preflight formalities. Check the availability of such spaces at your departure airport in advance.
Prepping Kids Before Boarding: Ensure your children have had a light snack and used the restroom before boarding, as access to onboard facilities may be limited during takeoff and landing.
During the Flight
Babies: Parents will receive a special infant seat belt that attaches to the adult’s belt to secure children under two years. Give them a dummy or bottle during takeoff and landing to ease ear pressure.
Children: Bring child-friendly headphones for movies or music and fun activities like colouring books, puzzles, or travel-sized card games.
Tip: Alternate between activities to maintain engagement and minimise boredom. Include brief leg-stretching breaks when possible.
