Puerto de la Cruz is located in the north of the island and has a subtropical climate. In addition to its artificial black sand beach, the municipality also boasts public seawater pools, including the Lago Martiánez with its 8 beautiful pools (for a fee). Until the mid-1980s, Puerto Santiago was still a small town whose inhabitants mainly relied on fishing to earn a living. Now, its family-friendly atmosphere makes the resort particularly suitable for travellers looking for a quiet place to stay. The beautiful, well-maintained black sand beach of Playa de la Arena is one of the highlights of the southwest coast of Tenerife. Distance from the airport: 43 km.

Alcalá, a charming fishing village on the southwest coast of Tenerife, is part of the municipality of Guía de Isora. In its maze of alleys, you will see a lot of typically Canarian buildings and beautiful colourful houses. La Caleta

La Caleta is a small fishing village in the southwest of Tenerife. It has a more peaceful atmosphere than most Costa Adeje destinations, but still has plenty of entertainment on offer and some very good restaurants where you can enjoy seafood by the ocean. Distance from the airport: 20 km.

Playa Paraiso, located on the southwest coast, is both a popular beach resort and a residential area offering a peaceful setting for a quiet stay. There are a few shops and bus routes to Playa Fañabe and Playa de Las Americas. Distance to the airport: 28 km.

Located in the lively area of Costa Adeje, Playa del Duque is a very popular and upmarket resort. Its fine sandy beach is particularly popular for its clear waters and wealth of amenities. There are plenty of restaurants and bars along the long promenade, which passes through several municipalities on the Costa Adeje. Distance from the airport: 19 km.

It is home to several small, gently sloping white sandy beaches which offer the best conditions for water sports such as pedal boats, jet-skiing and parasailing. Playa de Fañabé

Playa de Fañabé is one of the most lively places in the southern region of Tenerife. It has been awarded the Blue Flag for the quality of its water and the environment. The clear sandy beach has everything you need to enjoy a relaxing day by the sea, or a wide range of water and leisure activities. Distance from the airport: 25 km.

Playa de las Americas is the most popular resort on the island and features a long promenade lined with bars, cafes and nightclubs. La Gomera

San Miguel de Abona stretches from the Atlantic Ocean to the Montaña Colorada Natural Park. Its historic town is considered to be of cultural interest and is well worth a visit. At the island’s bottom tip, the resort of Golf del Sur, built around the golf course of the same name, boasts beautifully designed flats as well as a number of shops, cafes and restaurants. Distance from the airport: 10 km.

 

La Gomera

La Gomera is the second smallest island in the Canary archipelago and has a delightful unspoilt landscape that will appeal to hiking enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. The island, situated just opposite Tenerife, is surrounded by cliffs and dotted with picturesque fishing villages. It is also home to the beautiful Garajonay National Park, which is protected by UNESCO. Distance from Tenerife: approx. 50 min. Transfer by boat.

La Gomera

 

Transfer procedure (in the event of a package trip):

1st day: departure from Luxembourg with Luxair flight. Arrival at Tenerife South Airport. Welcome by the LuxairTours guide who will give you your travel documents and answer all your questions.
Transfer (about 30 minutes) to the port of Los Cristianos and loading of your luggage. Depending on the time of your arrival in Tenerife, possible free time before the ferry leaves for La Gomera.
Boat trip for about 50 minutes. Disembark at the port of San Sebastián in La Gomera and transfer (35 km, about 30 minutes through an impressive landscape) to the Jardín Tecina Hotel in Playa de Santiago.
Until the last day: stay at the Jardín Tecina hotel depending on the services chosen.
Last day: transfer from Hotel Jardín Tecina to the port of San Sebastián. Boarding for Tenerife. After arrival at the port of Los Cristianos, transfer to Tenerife South Airport and departure for Luxembourg. If you wish to extend your stay on Tenerife Island, transfer directly from the port to the hotel of your choice in Tenerife.

 

N.B: The procedure may be modified according to the flight and ferry schedules. 

In case of last-minute changes, you will be informed by your guide on-site. If necessary, an overnight stay in Tenerife will be arranged.

Important notice: depending on the ferry schedule and the time of arrival or departure by plane, the waiting time can be several hours.

Must-do

  • Climb the Pico del Teide, the highest peak in Spain, for a unique and unmissable experience. Have a drink while you watch the sunset, then wrap up warm for a cool night of stargazing in the beautiful Teide National Park
  • Explore the lush green valley of Masca, home to a charming little village and a beautiful path leading to a wild beach. On your return to the village, you can enjoy some delicious tapas made with local ingredients. 
  • Enjoy a refreshing swim in the translucent waters of the natural pools carved out by the elements over time into the black volcanic rock.
  • Santa Cruz de Tenerife is one of the island's most popular party spots. Later in the evening, many of the restaurants in the historic centre transform into pubs and nightclubs where you can keep the party going until the end of the night.

  • The Santa Cruz Auditorium is the most modern building on the island and hosts concerts and conferences throughout the year.
  • For adrenaline junkies, a visit to the Siam Park water park is a must. This Thai-inspired water park is rated one of the best in the world and is a fun-filled day out for all ages!
  • Head out to sea to see the amazing cliffs of Los Gigantes, which reach an altitude of 500 metres in some places.
  • Take a walk along the island's marked hiking trails to observe its impressive protected ecosystem. You will find tropical fruits, banana plantations, red hibiscus, mimosas, junipers, laurels and many other plant species along the way.

  • This boat trip will take you to the cliffs of Los Gigantes, where you can watch whales and dolphins from the deck, through the glass bottom of the boat or on screens showing images from underwater cameras.

  • On this trip you will take the ferry from Los Cristianos in the south of Tenerife to the port of San Sebastián de La Gomera, the second smallest island of the archipelago. Here, you can soak up extraordinary views of its beautiful landscapes characterised by steep terrain and breathtaking cliffs plunging into the ocean, enjoy miles of signposted hiking paths in the heart of immense unspoilt forests and visit small, authentic villages with a strong emphasis on history and crafts.

  • A bus will take you to the starting point of this guided hike, on which you can appreciate the contrasting landscapes of the island and dive into the heart of nature. 

    Walking shoes and suitable clothing are essential. Further information available from your on-site guide.

  • This tour follows the cliffs of Los Gigantes towards Chio, and makes several stops on the way, before finally reaching the Cañadas del Teide National Park. Here, you will be able to admire the rocky corridors formed naturally by the wind, from an altitude of around 2,200 metres. Around midday, you will arrive at the picturesque village of Puerto de la Cruz and stop for a stroll along the coastal promenade or for lunch (not included). Next, you will visit the village of Icod de los Vinos and its famous dragon tree. In the afternoon, the last leg of the journey will take you to Santiago del Teide before returning to the southwest coast of Tenerife.

  • In a small group, you will head along the west coast in a van or mini-bus to reach the mountain village of Masca. You will then continue to Garachico, with a stop in Icod de los Vinos to visit the famous dragon tree and head on to La Orotava, where you can explore the historical town and enjoy a delicious lunch (included). You will then return to the south of the island through the crater-filled landscape of Cañadas.

  • Siam Park has been voted best water park in the world for the eighth consecutive year, and offers its visitors a full range of activities to suit all tastes. Adrenaline seekers will love the Tower of Power, an impressive 28-metre slide that shoots you out under the giant aquarium, or Singha, a roller coaster with high-speed curves and 14 direction changes. Don't miss the park’s two most unique attractions – the Patong Rapids, with more than 235 metres of curves and jumps, and Coco Beach, a children's area perfect for family fun.
