Castiadas

Renowned for its magnificent white and pink beaches, Castiadas is also known for its production of oranges and lemons as well as its wines, which are among the best in Sardinia. Distance to Cagliari airport : 65 km.

 

Capoterra

Capoterra owes its fame to its pretty beaches, well-preserved ancient sites and the nature reserve of Monte Arcosu, one of the largest protected natural areas in Europe. We must also mention the renowned Lido de Maddalena Spiaggia, where you can admire the spectacle of countless pink flamingos. Cagliari airport is approx. 15 km away.

Villasimius

Nora

This ancient city, located on a narrow peninsula, is partly submerged. There are not many traces left of its Phoenician founders in the 9th century BC. The best-known artefact of this period can be seen on the Nora Stele, where the name Sardinia is mentioned for the first time. The waves that flow up to the ancient thermal baths carry with them a part of this ancient heritage. Distance from Cagliari airport: 40 km.

 

Villasimius

The pleasant Villasimius has only 2,400 inhabitants and is located in the south-east of Sardinia, near Cala di Santa Catarina and the Fortezza Vecchia. The place is particularly appreciated for its beautiful coast, bordered by marvellous sandy beaches. Distance to Cagliari airport: 55 km.

Pula

Pula was an agricultural town in medieval times, and has quickly developed into a highly attractive seaside destination. It boasts heavenly beaches bathed in translucent waters, but is also appreciated for its historic centre and its traditional houses made of ladiri (mud bricks from the region), as well as for the cultural events held in the Casa Frau, a 19th-century palace. Cannigione

This former fishing village in the Gulf of Arzachena, with its small sandy beach, has gradually turned into a popular seaside resort that has nevertheless retained its old-world charm. From its pretty marina, where yachts, sailing boats and fishing boats are moored, it is easy to get to the neighbouring island of La Maddalena. Cannigione's Sardinian market is also held every week. Distance from Olbia airport: 30 km.

 

Golfo Aranci

This former fishing village is located on the Aranci gulf, a region known for its beautiful fine sandy beaches and emerald waters. Distance to Olbia airport: 20 km.

Porto Cervo

This exclusive Costa Smeralda resort is set in a steep, fjord-like cove. It is best known for its luxurious marina and its many designer boutiques and cafés. Since Karim Aga Khan discovered the place in 1960, Porto Cervo has become the summer meeting place for the international elite. Distance from Olbia airport: 30 km. 

 

Orosei

This authentic region in the north of the island boasts fascinating landscapes and charming little bays perfect for swimming. Porto San Paolo

This town near Olbia was once a traditional fishing port, but today it is most well known for its seaside attractions. Backed by a hilly hinterland and bathed in crystal-clear waters, it lies at the centre of the protected marine park and faces the islands of Tavolara and Molara, where the unspoilt scenery is breathtaking. It's an idyllic spot for relaxing, water sports and outdoor activities. Distance from Olbia airport: 12 km.

The wonderful white sandy beach of Cala di Budoni made this place in the south of Olbia famous. This beach is the guarantee for a relaxing seaside holiday. In Budoni you will also find  some restaurants, cafés and shops. Distance to Olbia airport : approx. 35 km. 

 

San Teodoro

Formerly a little fishing village, San Teodoro now boasts a good infrastructure and has many shops and several restaurants. It is best known for its superb sandy beaches bordered by a crystal-clear, turquoise-coloured sea. Olbia airport is approx. 30 km away.

Costa Smeralda

Baja Sardinia

This popular seaside resort lies on the southern coast of the Costa Smeralda, in a rocky bay with a fine sandy beach. The promenade, with its pretty piazzetta lined with restaurants and shops, stretches right along the beach. This is also where concerts are held during the summer months, sometimes until after midnight. Olbia airport is around 35 km away.

Pittulongu

Pittulongu sits between Olbia and Golfo Aranci, overlooking the sea and bordering a fine sandy beach with crystal-clear waters. The location is perfect for windsurfing, wing foiling, or sailing, and it also makes a great base for excursions to the Costa Smeralda or the unspoilt mountainous hinterland. Distance from the airport: approx. 10 km.

Marinella

Marinella lies sheltered from the wind between Golfo Aranci and Porto Rotondo, with white sand and turquoise waters along its shores. The gently sloping beach is ideal for families with children, and the location is perfect for escaping the crowds or enjoying snorkelling, scuba diving, and other water sports. Distance from the airport: approx. 17 km.

  • Book an excursion or take a ferry from Port of Palau to discover the archipelago of La Maddalena, where the scenery could have come straight out of a postcard.
  • Discover the Costa Smeralda, where billionaires come to show off their yachts and luxury vessels.
  • Rent a car and follow the winding roads through the scrubland to explore the authentic little villages.
  • Alternatively, take a walk on the white sand while listening to the soft lapping of the waves. You'll feel as though you've found a piece of heaven on earth…
  • And to finish, don't forget to buy a little bottle of mirto to round off your meals perfectly. 

 

 

Must-see

  • You can't leave Sardinia without seeing a nuraghe! These stone towers, whose origins date back to the bronze age, are dotted across the island. The Su Nuraxi Nuraghe has even been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
  • Cagliari, whose Sardinian name ‘Casteddu’, means castle, looks out over the salt marshes and is home to several architectural gems. Make sure to visit the cathedral and the Bastion of Saint Remy too.
  • Browse the luxury boutiques of Porto Cervo. Who knows, you might even bump into Sting or Harrison Ford…
  • Try some culurgiones, traditional Sardinian ravioli whose shape indicates which region of Sardinia they come from. But, of course, you won’t want to limit yourself to just looking at them…

  • The La Maddalena Archipelago, located just off the northern coast of Sardinia, can only be reached by sea. After passing the main inhabited island, La Maddalena, you’ll find a group of untouched islands dotted with hidden coves and stunning sandy beaches. The tour includes three stops, where you will have the chance to relax with a swim in crystal-clear waters. You’ll cruise past the islands of Spargi and Budelli, known for their dreamlike beaches and vibrant waters that shift from deep azure to emerald green. For lunch, Captain Nunzio will serve a traditional Italian meal before continuing towards Caprera. As the boat sails on, you can relax on deck and take in the breathtaking views of the archipelago’s coastline.

  • Welcome aboard the Consorzio, setting sail for the archipelago of La Maddalena. Once we arrive on the largest island of the archipelago, Maddalena, we will visit the pretty historic town (for approx. one hour) before enjoying a swim in the turquoise sea near the island of Santa Maria. Afterwards free time on the beach.
    Alternatively, you can take a walk to the Punta Filetto lighthouse located on the north-west coast of the island. During the remainder of the excursion, you will be able to admire all the beauty of the famous Budelli beach with its splendid pink colours, before sailing to the island of Spargi and the pretty bay of Cala Corsara.
    You can have lunch on board (small penne with tomato and basil, drinks not included).
    Return via Punta Sardegna, then Porto Rafael and Capo d'Orso.

  • This adventure aboard the motorboat ‘Impératrice’ will allow you to discover the natural wonders of the Gulf of Orosei and stop off at Cala Luna and Cala Mariolu, two of the most famous and fascinating beaches in the gulf (the feasibility of stopping at Cala Luna is subject to weather conditions due to the shallow water). You will also stop at Cala Sisine to visit the famous Grotta del Fico, which until a few decades ago was inhabited by monk seals, a species that is now extinct. A short stop will also allow you to discover Cala Goloritzè, the last beach in the Gulf with its majestic natural arch and the Guglia, its rocky outcrop 150 metres above sea level.
    As you sail through the crystal-clear waters surrounding the island, you will discover the most unspoilt parts of the coastline, nestled between majestic cliffs and beautiful coves. The boat will take you close to the limestone rocks and into the small caves inhabited by marangoni and golden eagles. 
    As the return to Orosei is scheduled for around 5.45 pm and arrival at La Caletta for around 7 pm, visitors wishing to visit the Grotta del Fico will make a shorter stop at Cala Mariolu beach or will not be able to disembark at this beach in the event of a delay during the visit. During busy periods on the beaches, the number of stops may be reduced to two.

    Lunch: you can book a packed lunch before departure to enjoy on the boat or on the beach.
    Bar: open all day (cappuccino, espresso, croissants, sandwiches, focaccia, salads, rice salads, sweet and savoury snacks, cold drinks, ice cream).
    Aperitif: enjoy an aperitif on the return journey (prosecco spritz or non-alcoholic drink & snacks)
    Equipment hire: you can hire a mask and underwater camera on board and get all your videos and photos at the end of the trip. You can also hire a parasol for a perfect stopover on the beach.

    few minutes' drive from Budoni and San Teodoro, and around 10:15 a.m. from Sa Marina beach in Orosei.

  • Discover the island aboard a Land Rover Discovery that can accommodate up to 6 people. In the morning or afternoon, you can choose between different itineraries:

    Costa Smeralda (Porto Cervo, Baia Sardinia and Porto Rotondo)
    You will first head towards Porto Rotondo, then continue towards Porto Cervo and Baia Sardinia, where you will have the opportunity to take a short break.

    First, you will head to Palau before boarding a ferry to the La Maddalena archipelago (approx. 15-20 mins). After visiting the small town, you will continue on to Caprera.

    Visit Olbia, then travel to the sacred well Pozzo Sacro Sa
    Testa and finally visit Porto Rotondo.

  • Aboard a historic sailing ship, the wind will carry you to the most beautiful islands, including Spargi with its magnificent Cala Corsara bay, known for its rock formations shaped like bulldogs or witches' heads. From there, you will have the opportunity to be dropped off by zodiac on one of its enchanting beaches. You will then sail towards Budelli to admire and photograph the famous pink beach – Spiaggia Rosa – where unfortunately it will not be possible to disembark or swim as this beach has been classified as a nature reserve since 1991. You will then set sail for Porto della Madonna, a natural harbour surrounded by the islands of Budelli, Razzoli and Santa Maria, sometimes referred to as a natural swimming pool due to the transparency of its waters. A stopover is also planned there to enjoy a typical lunch served by the crew (seafood pasta or pasta with tomato sauce, as well as the famous tri di prodotti sardi including cheese, salami and Sardinian bread, all accompanied by wine, water, espresso and myrtle liqueur). At each stop, you will have the opportunity to discover fabulous landscapes and swim away from the crowds!

    Duration: approximately 8 hours

    Good to know: the departure point and itinerary depend on weather and sea conditions and are left to the sole discretion of the captain.

  • This excursion will allow you to explore the fascinating region of Gallura from your place of stay (or from a designated pick-up point nearby). The bus will first take you to Olbia, where your guide will be waiting to begin the tour. The itinerary will take you through impressive landscapes of cork oak trees and allow you to admire thousand-year-old olive trees, some of which are over 4,000 years old. You will then visit Tempio Pausania, the former capital of Gallura, known for its characteristic cobbled streets. After a stroll through the old town, you will sit down at Robero's, where you will be treated to gnocchetti sardi, a local speciality accompanied by a glass of wine, all in a most convivial atmosphere. After lunch, you will head to Nuraghe Maiori, an iconic building dating back to the Bronze Age (around 1800 BC) and bearing witness to the Nuragic culture in Sardinia. The tour will end with a visit to Calangianus, the nerve centre of cork production in Sardinia. All the secrets of this craft will be revealed to you during a visit to Sandra Cossu's Arte Sughero workshop before you head back to your hotel.
