You will pass through Bourgas, the country's 4th largest city, and a number of small villages, to get to Sozopol, which is one of the oldest settlements on the shores of the Black Sea. Despite its turbulent past, Sozopol has retained its traditional charm. More than 80 of its houses are listed as heritage sites, and the town attracts many painters and actors every summer.
This ancient fishing town is a real gem as it overlooks the sea from the rocky peninsula on which it stands. The heart of the city is classed as historic and architectural heritage and abounds with little cobbled streets that lead to small medieval churches, allowing you to admire the typical wooden houses whose courtyards are dotted with colourful flowers. You'll also be able to explore the city from a different perspective by taking a little boat trip from Sozopol. The programme then includes a guided tour of the old town followed by some free time and lunch at a traditional restaurant where you can enjoy the view of the St. Ivan island from a beautiful terrace. Lastly, there will be a short stopover in Bourgas on the way back.
