The first, Agios Antonios, is just opposite Giala, where pumice stone is mined, and is only accessible by boat. Once moored, you can enjoy the beach and its clear, shallow waters, or climb to the top of a hill with a small chapel at the top for a great panoramic view.
The second port of call is Nissyros, which is famous for its active volcano. You can disembark from the boat at Mandraki, the capital of this small island, which has retained its typical Greek charm. Buses will be waiting to take you to the caldera, which, at 4 kilometres wide, is one of the largest in Europe. Here you can walk down into the crater and experience volcanic activity at close quarters. This moon-like landscape with its yellow crystals formed by the steam, vast cavities and the smell of sulphur is truly exceptional.
